We are a larger than average primary school and have now grown so big that we cannot all fit in the hall for assemblies.  We now use a house system and invited the children to choose our house names.  The winning entry gave us the names of local hills as this part of Loughton is known locally as 'The Hills' - Baldwins Hill, York Hill, Kings Hill, Pump Hill and Woodbury Hill, which all lie on a ridge overlooking Epping Forest.
Towards the end of the 19th century, Loughton and the Hills area in particular, became very popular with a number of artists and intellectuals because of their proximity to Epping Forest.

Our value of the month for October is RESPECT.
